Sherri Goodman, CEO of Consortium for Ocean Leadership

UNOLS is pleased to announce Sherri Goodman as the featured speaker of the 2015 UNOLS Annual Meeting. Ms. Goodman is the CEO and president of Consortium for Ocean Leadership, an organization that represents over 100 of the leading public and private ocean research education institutions, aquaria and industry with the mission to shape the future of ocean science.  She took over the leadership position at Ocean Leadership in February 2015.

Ms. Goodman has served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at CNA Corporation, which operates the Center for Naval Analyses and the Institute for Public Research. She is also founder and Executive Director of CNAs Military Advisory Board, a scientifically-based non-profit research organization that provides independent analysis and solutions to national security leaders and public sector organizations. Previously, Goodman served as Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Environmental Security) and on the staff of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Sherri Goodman has twice received the DoD medal for Distinguished Public Service, the Gold Medal from the National Defense Industrial Association, and EPAs Climate Change Award. She has degrees from Harvard Law School, the Kennedy School of Government, and Amherst College, and is known for her expertise in bringing scientists and policy makers together.
