NSF-UNOLS Chief Scientist Training Cruise Program
New to planning oceanographic field work? Wondering how to request research vessel time, or to request a submersible or ROV? Needing samples or wire-time to initiate a research project? If so, take part in a UNOLS Chief Scientist Training Cruise.
The multi-day cruise, pre-cruise informational phone conferences, and pre or post-cruise workshops instruct early career marine scientists, including PhD students and postdocs, on how to effectively plan and execute oceanographic research aboard a UNOLS vessel. Small stipends are often provided for participant travel costs, research supplies, and shipping.
No training cruises are available at this time; for notifications about upcoming training cruises, join our mailing list!
